I.Can. Overcome. Negativity.
THE MEANING BEHIND OUR LOGO.

We chose the face of Medusa as our Company Seal because like most people in America and around the world, her story has been misconstrued and misunderstood. Number one,

Medusa does not represent religion nor false prophets, but represents one of the most tragic stories in Greek Mythology, the story of a Virgin maiden raped, then forever punished, for being beautiful, cursed for being raped.
The seal represents the absolute{strong minded}, The misunderstood, the unfairly punished, the struggle and the persecution that we all face in our lives on a daily basis here in the modern world.
Many are persecuted by their peers and even their parents,as well as some members of their family in this country for being self assured, your peers may call you arrogant, or if you dress well, smell great,or even drive, or covet  a particular vehicle, your peers may be more likely to accuse you of believing that you think you're better than they are
when in fact, you're merely honoring your own recognized inner greatness as one should. Medusa was not always a horrific creature, she in fact was born a beautiful maiden.
Her hair was silky and very long, she was known for her long beautiful locks of hair, and the most perfect ringlets.
She was so pretty, that she was coveted by the God of the Sea, Poseidon, who took advantage of her. Though this was no uncommon phenomenon in mythology, women were often being raped, and taken by force. Medusa's story is unlike any other, because of the consequences that befell her after she was abused by Poseidon.
Poseidon guise himself as a horse, and seduced the beautiful maiden.
This in itself was not the problem with the attack.
The violation of Medusu took place in one of the temples that belonged to the
War Goddess Athena. This outraged Athena, as she was both jealous, and angry with the disrespect given her temple. Athena needed a release, and so she sought to ruin Medusa in several ways. She first cursed her beauty, turning her beloved hair into terrible snakes, thus frightening anyone, and causing at once Medusa to be cursed as ugly.
The scorn that Medusa suffers, the loss of her most favored quality, causes her to become revolting.

If having a head full of snakes was not enough, this did not satisfy Athena. Medusa was made so unattractive by Athena the War Goddess that she was cast out, and forced to dwell in a cave. As result of this curse placed upon her by Athena, Medusa's cold eyes would then turn anyone who looked at her into stone. She was deemed a terrible monster.

Perseus
was sent on a mission to kill Medusa.
Athena aids him in this, lending to him her shield that he uses to reflect Medusa, instead of looking at her and risking being turned to stone. He was also given the winged shoes of
Hermes, to assist him in getting to his mission promptly. Given a hat that allowed him to become invisible, and a bag that would contain the head of the monster, Perseus set off on his mission. Perseus then cut Medusa's head off, while she lay sleeping, and took it back to Athena. It was then placed upon a rod, for Athena to display. Medusa's head can still be found emblazoned upon shields that are made, as a representation of evil. When in fact it should serve as it does with iCON
a reminder of the tragedy that can befall you, when you fail to protect your inner greatness. Your outer beauty and successes can bring upon the worst rewards from society,

Especially when  disguised in seduction and flattering tongues. Medusa's story is an unfortunate one. She was born a Gorgon, and had two sisters (Stheno, and Euryale), but she was the only one of the three that was mortal, thus she was easily defeated.
Medusa remains, though thousands of years later an infamous monster of lore and myth, and for centuries she has been recognized as the epitome of evil, in most eyes.
When in fact
she was indeed a victim. A victim of her own inability to protect her self or her inner greatness as a young women growing up, a victim of her natural beauty.
Medusa was punished, cursed, and murdered, and her beauty blamed for her tragic misfortune, rather than someone punishing Poseidon for the act that caused this reaction from Athena in the first place.
"Can you imagine something like this happening in today's society in your hood? I think not..."

We at iCON believe in greatness, recognized inner beauty despite what may be judged on the outside I. CAN OVERCOME. NEGATIVITY.
